OK, I traded my old (1990+/-) G17 for a newer (2001) G26 and a $100. Found that I didn't like to carry the G17 and had been most of the time carrying my G23. Found it to be very easy to carry, but some of my clothes didn't cover it as well as I would like. Played around with a PF-9 and found it concealed very easy where the G23 wouldn't. Problem was, don't trust the PF-9 to fire everytime. Found the G26 in the gun store and got a great trade. Still have one of my old G17 magazine and put an extension on it for the G26. Went to the range Sunday and found this little gun didn't have near the Kick I had heard it would have. Trigger was smooth and it was very acurate. I did notice that the rise of the barrel on recoil was less then I thought I had been seeing on my other Glocks. It may have been that I was shooting the PF-9 some before I shot the G26 and it does have a lot of barrel rise compare to the G26.
Does anyone know how I can tell if the recoil springs might have been changed out on this gun? I'm just wondering if it might have been changed out or maybe after shooting the G23 and the PF-9, the G26 just feels like it has a lighter recoil. |

Maybe you could take the spring to a gunshop and compare it to a spring in a new G26 and see it there is a difference. I do know that factory springs have a polymer guide rod. I would compare it to a new one and see though.
BTW, there is a very noticeable difference in the recoil between the 23 and the 26. To me the 9mm is more controlable than the .40 even in the smaller platform.
Well Done on the new to you Glock! Glad you like it. |

Ditto. It may be wise to get a new recoil assembly for your G26 and install it. Simple and inexpensive. Weaker recoil springs will translate to lighter felt recoil. Congratulations on your new to you G26! |
